What is Direct Dental Care?

Updated: Sep 18, 2020

Direct Dental Care is a dental plan that provides access to quality oral health care without the typical hassles of insurance, at a significantly lower price. To be honest, it's common sense 😁.

Members pay a monthly subscription fee for their choice of two plans, both of which cover routine preventive care at 100%. After that, instead of the traditional and confusing process of deductibles and coinsurance, members have access to a deeply discounted fee schedule. These discounted fees are published within our application, so there are never any surprises.

It’s not complicated. We simply built a system around good technology and the absence of an insurance middleman.

  • No Deductibles

  • No Annual Limits

  • No Waiting Periods

  • No Health Restrictions

  • Orthodontics Included

  • Total Transparency

In other words, the polar opposite of traditional dental insurance. Plans start at $12/mo.

Are you enrolled in insurance now or considering it? 👇

The Health Policy Institute published a study about dental insurance and highlighted these three key messages:

  1. More than one in three adults ages 19 through 64 with private dental benefits do not have a single dental claim within the year.

  2. Fees paid to dentists through private dental benefits plans are significantly lower than market fees. This leads to substantial differences in total dental spending estimates based on “market” versus “actual” fees.

  3. For the majority of adults, total copayments, coinsurance and premiums exceed the “market” value of their dental care.

So why do people actually buy dental insurance? That's not a rhetorical question. Let #3 sink in for a second.
